Mr. Percy E. Sullivan, Jr. 77 of Theressa passed away Monday, November 30, 2020, in Palatka following a brief illness. He was born June 6, 1943 in Jacksonville to the late Percy E. and Edna (Mills) Sullivan, Sr. Percy graduated in 1961 from BHS and immediately joined the National Guard for the next 8 years. Prior to his retirement he worked at Clay Electric for 34 years as a supervisor and volunteered his time with the Bradford County Fire Department for 43 years in which over 30 of those years he was Fire Chief. He was a decedent of the founders of Hope Baptist Church in which he was also a longtime member and trustee. Percy was involved with the Nursing Home Ministry and a member of the Four Point Hunting Club. He was very proud to be a part of the Theressa Volunteer Fire Department for so many years where the "Theressa Boys" showed their accomplishments, dedications and selflessness. Growing up in the 50s and early 60s during high school Percy was in a group called the "Theressa Chicken Catchers". Percy loved his family and his community and he showed it by always giving back. Percy leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 55 years Lynda (Strickland) Sullivan and their son Rusty Sullivan (Julie) and was lovingly called "Papa" by Gracie Sullivan all of Theressa. Also left behind is his sister in-law Ilene Fulghum and her family; nephews Marshall, Michael and Denver all of Palatka and a cousin Douglas Sullivan, Sr. of Starke along with a host of extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel Wednesday, December 2, 2020, from 5 - 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, 2020, with Rev. Donnie Lott officiating. Interment will be at Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to The Gideons International Processing Center P.O.
