Phillip "Phil" A. Suggs

Mr. Phillip "Phil" A. Suggs 73 of Keystone Heights passed away suddenly Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was born June 29, 1947, in Jacksonville to Comer and Joyce (Waddell) Suggs and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Phil retired from the City of Starke as their meter reader supervisor following 24 years of employment. He enjoyed spending time at the shooting range, being on the water fishing, and loved watching the deer on his property. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a wife Connie Suggs and a sister Linda Suggs. Left behind is his wife of 8 years Glenna (Joyner) Suggs; children Stephanie Maculewicz her husband Steve of Silver Springs, Hubert "Bubba" Benjamin Edenfield III his wife Michelle and Robert "Lawson" Edenfield his wife Debra Kay all of Keystone Heights, Charlerie Suggs of Lake City and Karen Jackson her husband Kyle of Starke. Also left behind is his sister Nancy Herrington of Hampton Lake along with best friend Dwayne Hardee of Starke. Phil was lovingly called "Grandpa" by his grandchildren Jamie, Alan, Justin, Autumn, Gage, Masen, Little Lawson, Shelby, Cammi and Ashleigh along with 11 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, with Nancy Herrington and Eric Reynolds officiating. Interment will be at Gadara Cemetery located off 315C. A time of fellowship will immediately follow in the fellowship hall at Gadara Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the woundedwarriorproject.org.
