Mrs. Phyllis Everett Carver Dreessen, age 78 of Starke, passed away on August 5, 2018. She was born on April 26, 1940, grew up in Jacksonville graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and made Starke, Florida her home for the past fifty years. After a courageous five-year battle with Parkinsons Disease, Phyllis has joined her two daughters, (Vicki and Kelli), first husband (Jay T.), parents (Frederick W. Everett Sr. and Margaret Kelly Everett Williams) and brother Robert Everett in heaven. Phyllis will forever be remembered by her loving husband Frank Dreessen, brother Frederick W. Everett Jr., sisters Jane Everett, June Maxim and Joan Stewart, beloved children Terry Carver (Mary), Karen Dreessen Higgins, Jeanne Dreessen (Dave) Sutton and treasured grandchildren Andrew (Charlene) Carver, Zachary Carver, Courtney (Patrick) Ingoldsby, Bailey Turner, Spencer Turner, Gary Higgins, and Cody Stinnett. One of six children, Phyllis was born to make the most of every situation and to bring fun into the lives around her. In high school, Phyllis was an arranger/performer with a girl group that entertained for US troops. Phyllis had a long history in the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday School and held many offices in both groups over the years. Phyllis wrote a column for the local newspaper for a short time and was always involved in making craft items for the church bazaar. Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother who loved God and her community. She was an inspiration for many and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Phyllis has arrived in heaven and the party has begun! A Celebration of Life service in honor of Phyllis will be at held at the First United Methodist Church of Starke on September 18, 2018. Please stop in at the Fellowship Hall from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm and share stories of Phyllis life.
