Preston Wilbur Wise, Sr. Preston Wilber Wise, Sr., age 71, passed away on Sunday January 8, 2012 in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday January 12, 2012 from 5:30 until 7:30 pm in George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. A funeral service will be held on Friday January 13, 2012 at 1:00 pm in Southpoint Baptist Church, 3335 Tiger Hole Rd., with Dr. Terry N. Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.Preston was born in Arcola, Georgia January 16, 1940 to Levi Wise and Myrtle NeSmith Wise. The family moved to Savannah, GA, where Preston grew up, until moving to Jacksonville a little over 40 years ago. He was a graduate of Savannah High School where he was a member of the R.O.T.C. Preston was a Master Carpenter and worked for many years doing subcontractor work. He loved to use his woodworking skills and also enjoyed traveling and playing guitar and piano and he was a member of Southpoint Baptist Church for many years.Preston Wise was preceded in death by his parents & a sister, Elva Metz.
