Rachel Ann Priest Butts of Kingsland, Ga. passed away peacefully on Thursday Jan. 19, 2017 while at the Community Hospice - Mc Graw Center for Caring in Jacksonville. At her bedside were her son,daughter, and four sisters.Rachel was born to Fred and Sharon Rossie Priest on September 14, 1957 in Fort Lauderdale. Both parents preceded her in death.Rachel enjoyed a loving relationship with her maternal grandmother, Rachel Rossie Wilson, for whom she was named.She leaves behind two loving children, Jason Bruns, of Kingsland, Ga. and Dawn Marie Rogers of Jacksonville who were with their mother to the end, as well as two grandchildren, Noah and Emma Branan; four sisters, Pamela White Appollo, of Alexander, NC, Deborah White Irmick, of Pleasent View, TN, Patricia Hayward Foley of Orlando, and Melissa Hayard Cox of Anniton, Al, were also with her. She is also survived by an Uncle Fred Rossie of Paisley, FL and foster parents Bob White & Doris White of The Villages, FL.As an adventurous woman, she became a licensed professional truck driver for multiple companies allowing her to explore the open road and all of its beauty. She always held her passion close until her decline in health forced her early retirement.A loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who loved her church and family, will forever be missed.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday January 22, 2017 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. Jacksonville, Fl. Visitation will be held for the hour prior. Rachel will be interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens on N.W. 27th Ave. in Ft.
