Rafael Pillot, 68, of Jacksonville, FL. died peacefully on Wednesday June 14, 2017, surrounded by loved ones. He was born to Ariel Pillot and Carmen Maria Brignoni on September 18, 1948 in Santurce, Puerto Rico and spent his formative years in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.Mr. Pillot attended Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. He worked many years in New York City in the travel industry and subsequently retired to Jacksonville, FL.Survivors include his spouse, Marbel Tabares ; his mother, Carmen Maria Pillot; sisters, Carmen E. Henry and Malvelina P. Monell; his niece Natasha Monell; aunts: Matilda Brignoni, Lydia Lockhart, Juanita Berrios, and Victoria Brignoni; uncle, Bienvenido Brignoni.He is also survived by grandniece, Jordan Alexis Diaz; grandnephew, Daniel Diaz; sisters-in-law: Tania Gonzalez (Carlos), Maria Julia Tabares, Aleida Tabares, Magdalena Mendez (Lazaro); brothers-in-law: Robert Henry, Carlos Monell, Jorge Tabares, Julio Cesar Tabares and Julio Tabares, as well as a host of extended family members and friends.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 24, 2017 in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd. S., Jacksonville, FL.
