Ralph Franklin McCorvey Funeral services for Ralph Franklin McCorvey, 86, who passed away on October 2, 2013, will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the North Jacksonville Baptist Church with Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreens Garden Cloister Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday (Today) from 6-8 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Mr. McCorvey was born Brunswick, Georgia and was raised in Tifton, GA. He was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, FL and had retired from AIG after 40 years of service. A veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He was discharged in Sept. 1946. He went to Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, GA, where he met Billie Rice, She attended G.S.C.W. They married on May 8, 1948. She passed away on October 23, 2007 after 59 years of marriage. Their daughter, Yevette S. McCorvey passed away on February 19, 1994. Survivors include his son, Randall McCorvey (Migdalia); 4 granddaughters, Farrah Richardson, Candace Lillo, Margeaux Giles, and Ashley McCorvey; 4 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ayden, Avrey and Gemma.
