Obituary

Mr. W. Raymond McMillanMr. Ray McMillan age 67, of Waldo passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center following a brief illness. Born in Ocilla, GA on April 7, 1943 to the late Oliver and Mamie McSwain McMillan and has been a resident of Waldo since 1979. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and was an active member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Starke. Ray retired from Clarant Chemical Company of Gainesville in February of 2009. He loved all sports, his favorites being the Florida Gators, Atlanta Braves, and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Ray loved most in life, the time spent with his family and friends, and he will deeply be missed. Survivors are: his wife of 32 years Sharen Brewer McMillan of Waldo; daughter: Amber Tanner of Valdosta, GA; Step-dad: Bud Amsler of Waldo; step-son: Kenith J. Brewer of Lawtey; grandchildren: Kenny Brewer; Krystin Brewer; Hudson and Grace Tanner. He is also survived by Sharens siblings whom he considered his own: Loyd Bryan (Marion) of Lawtey; Mike Bryan (Chris) of Keystone Heights; Cathy Taylor (Larry) of Marianna; Donald Jackson (Sheila) of Raiford; Cindy Bryan Wilkinson (Allan) of Clay Hill; Timmy Bryan (Sharon) of Starke; John Bryan of Starke. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL in Starke on Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 2-6 PM. Memorial services will be on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 3:00 PM in St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father Conrad Cowart officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
