Rev. Robert Reid Yates Rev. Robert Reid Yates, 91, passed away on Monday July 29, 2013 at the McGraw Center for Caring Hospice in Jacksonville. A funeral service will be held on Friday August 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Kernan Blvd Baptist Church, 4000 Kernan Blvd. Interment will follow in H. Warren Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday August 1, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, hewellfuneralhomes.com, 4140 University Blvd., S.Rev. Yates was born in Macon, Georgia on March 4, 1922 to George A. Yates, Sr. & Ethel Mills Yates. He was a longtime Jacksonville resident and pastor of East 44th Street Baptist Church and Spring Park Baptist Church. Rev. Yates was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 37 years, Lura M. Yates; his wife of 6 years, June Fuller Yates; his son, Kenneth Yates and his siblings Betty Cumbee, Norma Reynolds, Kenneth Yates & George A. Yates, Jr. Survivors include his daughters Carolyn Roof (Richard), Dorinda Hall (K.C.) & Reena Mobley; daughter-in-law, Carol Yates; 5 grandchildren Stacy Clark (Glen), Richie Roof (Crystal), Lura Marie Mulroy (Kelly), Carl Henderson & Tammy Fuller; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many nieces, nephews & extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rev. Yates name to Kernan Blvd. Baptist Church or to Community Hospice of N.E. Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of George H.
