Richard Besserman, Ph.D., born December 31, 1940, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away on January 23 at the age of 85 in Gainesville, Florida. A clinical psychologist, he dedicated his career to helping those who had experienced deep trauma, including Holocaust survivors in Israel and inmates within Florida's correctional system.

He is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn; his daughters, Anja Besserman-Svendsen and Nicole Oren; and his three beautiful grandchildren. Richard will be remembered for his compassion, integrity, and lifelong commitment to healing and service.
