Richard Wayne Fortuna

Richard Wayne Fortuna, 70, of White Springs, Florida, died May 20, 2020.He was born in Waterville, Maine, and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. A graduate of the University of Florida, he went on to work as a junior and senior high school band director in Duval and Baker counties, as well as an American and World History teacher at various middle and high schools in the same area.A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Jacksonville with Fr. Michael J. Larkin officiating.Wayne is survived by his loving wife Deborah Fortuna of White Springs; daughter Carolyn Fortuna of Jacksonville; sons Michael (Kristin) Fortuna of Ocala, Florida, and Patrick Fortuna of Live Oak, Florida; brother James (Kate) Fortuna Jr. of Winston Salem, N.C.; and granddaughters Michaela and Katelyn Fortuna, both of Ocala.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association and/or a local food bank.Arrangements are under the direction of George H.
