Richard D Gerhart

Mr. Richard D. Gerhart 83 of Melrose passed away at his home. He was born November 1, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and Doris (Johnson) Gerhart. He served in the United States Army and was a retired Sheet Metal Mechanic. Mr. Gerhart attended the 7th Day Adventist Church and had a passion for inventing, and enjoyed studying, teaching, gardening and electrical and mechanical repair. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 60 years Gloria Faye Gerhart; siblings George Gerhart, Ronnie Gerhart, David Gerhart, Donnie Gerhardt and Harold Gerhart. His survivors are a sibling Evelyn Cronkhite, his daughter Faye Van Meurs and her husband Jasper; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Private services were held.
