Richard John Hopper

Richard John Hopper, 48 of Gainesville, Florida passed away peacefully at North Florida Rehabilitation Specialty Care in Gainesville, Florida on November 16, 2015 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Richard was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on June 21, 1967and moved to Interlachen, Florida in 1972. Richard is survived by his loving mother, Jean Hopper of Interlachen, Florida, brother William Hopper, Jr. of Citra, Florida, sisters Jeannie Harris of Interlachen, Florida and Debbie Bishop of Alachua, Florida. Richard is also survived by nieces Nichole Morris and Katie Harris and nephew Jake Harris. Richard is predeceased by father William Hopper, Sr. and brother, Robert Hopper. Richard was a man, son, brother and friend of few words, but when you heard him speak - the sun shined. Rich enjoyed putting puzzles together and had a passion for fishing. Rich made many friends during his stay at North Florida Rehabilitation Specialty Care. This healthcare team oversaw his care for the past three years and became his extended family -Hersell and Alma --your kind, caring ways will be cherished forever. Graveside Services will be held 3:00pm on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Hawthorne Cemetery with Father Roland Julien officiating.
