Richard Allen Linville

Richard Allen Linville, retired MSgt, USAF age 88 of Starke passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at North Florida Regional Hospital in Gainesville. Richard was born on November 7, 1932 in Curryville, Missouri to the late Richard Alexander Linville and Flossie "Logan" Linville. Following high school, Mr. Linville worked as a heavy equipment operator and motorcycle mechanic. He later joined the Air Force and served with the 496th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron primarily in missile fire control systems. He was also an electronics instructor. Following his twenty year military career, he achieved a BS degree in economics as well as a BS in finance from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He also worked as the service manager for the Sears warehouse in Topeka before owning and operating Linville Electronics and running the repair shop at Nelsons Team Electronics. Richard was a man of many talents. He built a family home while attending college in Kansas and also built a home after moving to Florida. In 1961, while stationed in France, he married the love of his life, Renee "Montagne" Linville. The couple spent 56 wonderful years together before Renees passing in February of 2018. During his free time, Richard enjoyed reading, cooking, working on boats, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Renee "Montagne" Linville. Survivors include two sons, Charles (Lori) Linville and Patrick Linville. Arrangements are by JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME OF STARKE 904-964-6200.
