Mr. Richard "Philip" Nichols age 75, of Starke passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Nichols was born on July 21, 1945 in Gainesville, FL and was a lifelong resident of Bradford County. Philip was a member of First Baptist Church of Starke, the local American Legion Post, the Enlisted National Guard Association of Florida and also the Enlisted National Guard Association of the United States. He was a Vietnam Navy veteran and retired from the Florida National Guard. Prior to retirement he worked as an administrator for Camp Blanding. Preceding him in death was his mother, Myrtice (Crosby) Nichols, sister, Janet Carter and sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Don Neel. Survivors are, his wife of 49 years Susan (Wiggins) Nichols of Starke, son, David Philip Nichols of Starke, daughter, Monica Suzanne Kadlec of Starke, grandson, Hagen Gage Kadlec of Starke, siblings, Patsy Lawson of Starke, Colleen (Mitch) Brannon of Lake Butler, Michael (Kay) Nichols of Scottsdale, AZ, Gregory (Marlene) Nichols of St. Augustine and brother-in-law, Donald Carter of Kingsley Lake. Also left are many nieces, nephews, other family and devoted friends.The family will receive visitors at First Baptist Church of Starke on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a memorial service beginning at 11 oclock. In accordance with CDC regulations please wear your face mask. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to, First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1258, Starke, FL 32091 or a Hospice of choice.
