Richard Lee Oreair Sr.Services for Richard Lee Oreair Sr., 94, who died June 5, 2018, will be held Monday June 11 at 11:00 AM at the George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 North Main Street, with the Chaplain (USN) Pon Chamthaphon officiating. Interment will follow with Full Military Honors at Evergreen Cemetery following the service. Mr. Oreair was born in Placerville, California. When the Navy brought him to Jacksonville in 1945, he met his future wife Edna, where he resided the rest of his life. Rick was a Naval Aviator Reservist until 1985. He was the Commanding Officer of VP-741 and was activated during Korea, the Berlin Crisis and the Cuban Crisis, keeping his electrical contracting company going at the same time. He was a Charter Member of the North Jacksonville Rotary Club where he served as President and was a double Paul Harris Fellow. His deep faith and love of Christ and family was evident in everything that he did. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church when he first came to Jacksonville, and was a member of the new Grace Lutheran Church for the last eight years. He is survived by his four children, Jacquelyn Marks (Ken), Cheryl Korey (Larry), Rick Oreair Jr. (Marie), Steve Oreair (Harriett), nine grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
