Richard Rudolph Pernini passed away on September 20, 2024 in Gainesville, Florida. He was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, on November 22, 1939, grew up in Somerville, New Jersey, and served in the U. S. Navy. He was married to Katherine Pernini (nee Andrews) for 56 years.Richard was a contractor for 49 years in the North Florida area. He held state licenses in electric, plumbing, mechanical building, and a general contractor. He was a mentor to many and a friend to all. He loved his wife and family and his church.He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Gainesville. He was long time leader of the "Children of Light" prayer group and a current member of "People of Praise" prayer group.Richard was always available to those in need and opened his home to all who had no place to go on holidays.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister, a son, and a grandson.He is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughters, Rebecca Pernini, Tessa Pernini, Christinia Pernini, Juliana Sakai; sons, Daniel Pernini, Antony Pernini, and Robert Pernini; 16 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Ave, Gainesville, Florida.
