Richard "Stoney" Rector

Mr. Richard "Stoney" Rector, Jr. 53, of Keystone Heights passed away at his home Saturday, June 5, 2021. He was born May 29, 1968, in Morganton, North Carolina. Stoney was a plumber and natural gas technician. He was a Christian, enjoyed fishing, grilling and taking his children on trips and was known to also include the neighborhood kids. But most of all, he was always willing to help others in any way he could. Stoney is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years Linda (McLoon) Rector and their five children John William Phillips, Matthew Stoney Rector, Paige Noel Rector, Amber Michelle Phillips, and Aaron Luke Stevens all of Keystone Heights; parents Richard Stoney Rector, Sr. (Janett) and Hilda (Phillips) Adkinson (Steve), father and mother in-law James and Barbara Jo McLoon all of Jacksonville. Also left behind are three siblings Debra Michelle Adams, Jonathan Howell, and Cybil Rector all of Jacksonville and Tommy Bell of Gainesville. He was also lovingly known as "Pop" four grandchildren Olivia, Michael, Logan and Ryker. Funeral services for Stoney will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021, in the funeral home chapel with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
