WALKER: Richard Paul Walker, 89, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 at his home in Jacksonville, FL. Richard was born in Muscatine, Iowa to Arnold & Iona (Reynolds) Walker. He was a long-time resident of Muscatine, Iowa and attended Muscatine High School. There, Richard met and later married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Ann Rushing. Richard spent his early years working for the railroad in Jacksonville and later transitioned to the maritime industry guiding operations for several shipping lines in the Gulf Coast region. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; one son, Jeffrey; a sister, Audrey Ann; and two brothers-in-law, Charles (Mick) Hagermann and James Crowder.He is survived by his daughter, Debra Ann (Joseph) Umbdenstock of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Shirley Hagermann and Jackie Crowder of Muscatine, Iowa; Betty Jo Walker of Minneapolis, MN; a sister-in-law, Betty Rannow of Jacksonville, FL; and nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
