Richard A. Warkentine

Richard A. Warkentine, age 63, passed away on Sunday March 11, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends on Sunday March 18, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in George H. Hewell & Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. A service honoring his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday March 20, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Price of Celebration Church officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.A Jacksonville native, Richard was born here on April 7, 1954 to Merwyn & Charlotte Warkentine. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, class of 1972. Richard went on to earn his Bachelors Degree from the University of Pennsylvania and worked in the financial field, most recently as a pension coordinator for Voya Financial. He was a member of Celebration Church, the Barnett Lodge #187- F&AM, the Eastern Star- Southside Chapter and the Morocco Shrine.Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Mays Warkentine; 2 daughters Candace Bleich (husband, Matt) & Christina Warkentine; a son, R. Allen Warkentine (wife, Erica); grandchildren, Rivers, Fisher, Austin, Kyle & Ellie.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richards name to Shriners Hospitals for Children at donate.lovetotherescue.org or by mail to: Attn- Office of Development, 2900 N.
