Donald "Rick" Newell, 55, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Rick was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated in 1985 from Englewood High School. Ricks career path ranged from Commercial Fisherman to Electrician. However, Ricks true passions were fishing, cooking, and eating. He also had a big heart and a soft spot for all animals.Rick spent his life lightening the burdens of others without a concern for himself or expectation of gratitude. All who knew Rick knew he never met a stranger and had a smile for all who were blessed to know him.Rick was married to the love of his life, Kim, for 21 years. He was a loving father to 2 beautiful daughters; Savannah (Ryan) and Caroline (Carey). He also was a proud grandfather to 1 grandchild, Gavin.Rick is survived by his parents, Donna and George Mouro III; Siblings Kim Steedman-Soloway (Steve), Bobby Newell (Rachel), Donna Thigpen, and George Mouro IV (Jaime); Brother-in-law Brett Feinstein (Stephanie); 13 nieces and nephews, 1 great-niece and 1 great-nephew as well as many other extended family members.Memorial services for Rick will be held on Saturday, October 22,2022 at 1p.m. at Hewell and Sons Funeral Home. 4140 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, Florida 32216.
