Rita Marie Gregory

Mrs. Rita Marie Gregory age 97 of Keystone Heights passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, at Roberts Care Center in Palatka. She was born April 15, 1922, in New Brunswick, Canada to Frederick and Clara Gauvin. Mrs. Gregory was a homemaker and a parishioner at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Starke before moving to Keystone Heights thirty years ago where she then became a parishioner at St. William Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and saying the Rosary; she also enjoyed crocheting, making blankets and was known for her delicious pies and cookies she baked. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband James Edward Gregory. Mrs. Gregory leaves behind four children Nancy Bryant (Joe) of Ocala, Daniel James Gregory (Loretta) of Miami, Susan Marie Escarra of Punta Gorda and Patricia Thorsell (Larry Cheshire) of Earleton along with two brothers Gene Gauvin of Ocala and Armand Gauvin of Canada along with several nieces and nephews. She was also lovingly called "Grandma" by ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 23, 2019, in Miami at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177.
