Mr. Robert "Bobby" M. Autry 75 of Hampton Lake passed away unexpectedly at his home, Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born August 5, 1948, in Charleston, South Carolina to Robert L. and Mildred (Davis) Autry. Bobby was 14 years old when his family settled in Starke from Wauchula where he spent much of his childhood. Following his graduation from BHS in 1966 he began his studies at Santa Fe, UCF, and UF earning his bachelors in economics and pharmacology. This led to his career as a the "local pharmacist" serving the Bradford County Community for 49 years working in retail, hospital, and nursing home pharmacies with the latest working at North Florida Pharmacy since 2018. Bobby was a member of Gainesville Church of God and was a Florida Gator fan. He also enjoyed "counting pills" and "pouring liquids", but most of all he loved his grandchildren, spending time with them and anything else "grandchild" related. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his best friend of 39 years Peter J. Gianas, MD. Bobby leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 31 years Virginia (Massey) Autry of Hampton Lake; children Cassie Reddish (Chad), Jim Autry (Angel), and Scott Taylor (Elizabeth) all of Starke, and Josh Taylor of Hampton Lake; sister Susan Moulder of Starke; father and mother in-law Wayne and Abbie Massey of Starke. He was lovingly called "Grandpa" by Emma and Will Reddish and Dylan, Landon, Allie, Annalise, and Adeline Taylor. Also left behind is fur baby Dutchess Loulou. Visitation for Bobby will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the Sampson City Church of God from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Chris Chrisopulos officiating.
