Robert 'Pete' Darsey

ROBERT W. DARSEYRobert Darsey who was also known as Pete by his family and Bob by his many friends was born at home in Baxley, Georgia on January 1, 1941. Pete passed away at home from cancer on October 6, 2018.He was pre-deceased by his parents Alton and Carrie Darsey, Brothers Eldridge Darsey and DeNean Darsey, and his Sister Deanna Watkins.He is survived by his sisters Dixie Cribb (Earl Cribb), Nona Williams and Bronnie Darsey. His Nephews, Nieces and Great Nephews and Nieces all were involved with him when growing up and he did all he could to help them.He served in the US Navy and was a navigator with the Hurricane Hunters. He then went on to work for RCA, Pan AM and Honeywell where he retired. In these jobs he worked on many secret projects like the stealth fighter plane. Pete also worked on many projects at NASA.Pete wanted his body donated to science to help others and so there will not be a viewing. The family will hold a Celebration of his life at a later date in November. Time and place to be announced later. His final resting place will be at Piney Grove Church cemetery in Baxley, Georgia..
