Robert A. Hinson Robert A. Hinson, 84, passed away on June 20, 2013 in Jacksonville. A funeral service will be held on Monday June 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. with Rev. Steve McCollum officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral.Robert was born in Akron, Ohio on September 10, 1928 to Gillis & Minnie Hinson. He began working for Ohio Bell at the age of 16 and later transferred to Southern Bell and AT&T. He retired after 44 years with AT&T. Mr. Hinson has been a Jacksonville resident since 1967 and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, JAARS, A.O.P.A. and AT&T Pioneers. He loved to fly & travel and loved his children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren with all of his heart. Left to cherish their memories of Mr. Hinson are his beloved wife of 65 years, Grace Hinson; his sons, Gary Hinson (Linda), Jeff Hinson (Bea) & Robbie Hinson (Cindy); 5 grandchildren, Sommer Sallette (Andrew), Autumn Hinson, Benjamin Hinson, Melanie Hinson & Landon Hinson and 2 great-grandchildren, Addison & Riley.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Roberts name to either First Baptist Church Missions, 124 W.
