Obituary

Mr. Robert "Bobby" D. Keen, Jr. age 60 of Melrose passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at Haven Hospice in Gainesville following an extended illness. He was born October 10, 1962, in Lake City to the late Robert and Mary (Bedenbaug) Keen, Sr. Bobby graduated with the Class of 1981 from Hamilton County High School in Jasper where he was voted Wittiest, Most Popular, and Friendliest, (which still holds true to this day). Bobby moved to Melrose over 20 years and met Andy Riess, together they started Bear Bottom Boyz, LLC and traveled to various functions selling their delicious products. He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed being outdoors camping, hiking, and taking wildlife photographs while kayaking. Bobby also enjoyed cooking and promoting small businesses, but most of all Bobby had a heart of gold and was always trying to help others in need. Bobby leaves behind his devoted and loving husband of 7 years Andy Riess; four children Brandon Russellburg of St. Marys, Georgia, Hunter Riess and Laken Riess both of Gainesville and Charlie Riess of Keystone Heights. Also left behind are his siblings Tracy "Scooter" Keen, Lisa Smith, Robbie Keen, and Ceirra Revels all of Lake City. He was also called "Papa Bobby" by four precious grandchildren. A Celebration of Bobbys life will be held December 17, 2023. For further information please contact Andy. In lieu of flowers please support your local small businesses.
