Robert Eugene King

Mr. Robert "Bob" Eugene King 90, of Keystone Heights passed away Friday,August 20, 2021, in Jacksonville. He was born September 21, 1930, in Wise,Virginia to Thomas and Flo (Tindle) King and had served in the United StatesAir Force as Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he enrolled in theUniversity of Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree inChemical Engineering. Following many years of employment, he retired asGeneral Manager and Vice President of Florida Gas. He was a founding memberof the Keystone United Methodist Church and was very active with the mensWednesday night groups along with many others. He was a member of the AmVets Post #86 and loved playing golf with his friends. He was an avid Oklahomafan but also cheered for the Gators; he enjoyed woodworking and loved beingwith his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded indeath by his loving wife of 64 years Jean King. His survivors are his son BobKing (Jeanie) of Greensboro, North Carolina and was lovingly called "Grandpa"by Jennifer Michelle King-Leipold (Jordon) of Randleman, North Carolina. Alsoleft behind is a host of dear friends that will miss him dearly. A memorialservice for Mr. King will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in theKeystone United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Tate officiating.Interment will follow at a later date.
