Robert Armand Malouin Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed awaypeacefully in Jacksonville, FL on February 12, 2025, at the age of 78 with his family by his side.He was born on May 20, 1946, in St. Christine, Quebec Canada and raised in Rhode Island withfive brothers, Robert was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, where he built a life filled withlove, laughter, and a strong sense of helping others.He was the son of the late Alfred Elie Malouin and late Germaine (Depot) Laferrier. His step-father was the late John Laferrier. He was predeceased by two brothers Paul Malouin (Jane),and Raymond Malouin (Christine). He is survived by his remaining brothers and their spousesDenis (Nancy), Roger (Margo), and Fernand and several nieces and nephews and their families.He was the beloved husband of Mary (Greenwell Jones) Malouin, with whom he shared 33wonderful years. Together, they created a warm and inviting home. Robert is also survived byhis son, Robert Malouin Jr. (LaWanda), two stepdaughters, Jennifer Gentry (Ames), KimberlyCronin (Jason), and a loving family that includes 9 grandchildren (Hunter, Nat, Autumn, Eden,Noel, Peyton, Joey, Amelia, and LJ), and 7 great-grandchildren. Spending time with hisgrandchildren and great grandchildren was one of his greatest joys.Robert was a locomotive engineer at Norfolk Southern Railway until his retirement. Those whoknew him will remember him as a 'jack of all trades,' it was his commitment to helping othersthat truly defined him. Robert was a real people person, and he thrived on meeting peoplewherever he went and helping anyone and everyone with whom he came in contact. Hisfriendly smile and kind heart will be dearly missed by all who knew him.Robert was involved in the Jacksonville Dog Fanciers Association, serving as treasurer andproperty manager, where his love for dogs and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts enrichedhis life. He effortlessly fostered connections with others, bringing people together throughshared experiences and laughter. He was a dog lover and leaves his two four-legged fur kids,Yahweh and Henry.Robert's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He touchedcountless lives, and through our memories, he will continue to inspire us and will be greatlymissed by all.
