Obituary

Robert J. "Bob" Neubaur, 87, Gainesville died in peace at E.T. York, Hospice Care Center, in the presence of his family, on May 7, 2013.Survived by his loving wife, Beatrice "Betty",3 children, Rita (Steve) Garret, Gainesville; Arthur (Suehaven), Montverde; Mary (Richard) Casselberry; sister in law, Monica Clarke, Winter Park; 7 Grandchildren, Scott (Maria) Rachel, Kristen, James, Lauren, Nicole, and Edward.Bob was born in Albany, New York, formerly lived in Houston, and Winter Park before moving to Gainesville, in 1998. Bob was a WWII Navy Veteran. His careers included being an Electrical Engineer, (Rocket Scientist), on the Space Shuttle Program, in which he retired from in 1990. He was a lifelong aspiring writer. His hobbies included; Model Airplane building and flying, rocketry, and woodworking, reading, and the growing of Bromeliad plants.He was past president of the Central Florida and Gainesville Bromeliad Societies, of which he was a member of both for many years.He was loved by many, and liked by all he met. Bob will be missed sorely by friends, neighbors, and family, especially for his dry wit, humor and diplomacy.The family will receive friends at Queen of Peace Catholic Community, 10900 S.W. 24th Ave, Gainesville, on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial, which will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Consecration and Committal Services will immediately follow the Mass at Forest Meadows Memorial Park, Central 4100 N.W. 39th Ave.In Lieu of flowers Expressions of Sympathy may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606 or Catholic Charities, 1701 N.E. 9th St., Gainesville, FL 32609 Funeral Home Forest Meadows Funeral Home 725 NW 23rd Avenue Gainsville FL - 32609 US 352-378-2528
