Roberta Sayers Doyle Roberta Sayers Doyle, 76, a resident of Mt. Carmel Apts., passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the McGraw Hospice Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL. Roberta was born in West Haven, CT on April 22, 1936 to George and Viola Sayers. Having lived most of her life in and around West Haven, she was a resident of Jacksonville, FL for the past five years and a faithful parishioner at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Roberta was a devoted mother and well-loved family member. Aiding others for over 20 years as a registered nurse and serving in the Foster Grandparent program were sources of great personal pride and joy. She is survived by her four sons and their families, John Joseph Doyle (Michelle Campbell) of Valrico, FL, William Michael Doyle (Susan Smith) of Jacksonville, FL, Gerald Robert Doyle (Shirley) of Macclenny, FL, and Brian Thomas Doyle of Jacksonville, FL; by her brother, George Sayers of West Haven, CT; and by numerous extended family members and friends. Per her wishes, all related services will take place in West Haven, CT on Thursday, November 15, 2012; a public viewing will be held at Porto Funeral Home. On Friday, November 16, 2012, religious funeral services will be held at St. John's Vianney Catholic Church - with Roberta being laid to rest immediately thereafter at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
