Roger Randall Hurst, 60, passed away in his sleep at home in Jacksonville, Florida on October 16, 2014. He was born on June 14, 1954 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Lloyd Ashley Hurst and Alma Jean Hurst. He graduated from Wolfson High School in 1972, from Florida State University in 1976, and spent his career in construction insurance and bonding locally, most recently at Cecil W. Powell and Associates. He was predeceased by his mother Jean Hurst. Survivors include his father Lloyd Hurst (Jacksonville), son Keith Hurst (Jacksonville), daughter Stacia and husband Nic D'Angelo (Jacksonville), and brother Don and wife Trudy Hurst (Norcross, GA), and brother Doug and wife Deborah Hurst (Fruit Cove). He loved his family dearly, was a history enthusiast, and an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting in Brunson, South Carolina. A graveside service will be held for friends and family on Monday October 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
