Mr. Roger "Steve" Kiser age 71, of Melrose passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Steve had beat his long battle with cancer but passed away due to complications from surgery. He was born January 8, 1947, in Ashland, Kentucky to Lawrence and Mollie (Griffith) Kiser; he was one of their fourteen children. Steve also owned and operated a home remodeling business called About Houses. He was a believer in Christ and enjoyed carpentry work. Steve also enjoyed fishing off his boat, camping, traveling to the Smokey Mountains and Niagara Falls but most of all he loved being with his family. In addition to his parents his siblings Charlie, Walter "Buster", Vernita, Geneva and Sue had also preceded him in death. Survivors are his loving wife of 30 years Irene (Gates) Kiser of Melrose; children Roger Kiser of Titusville, Steven Kiser of Tallahassee, Renee Ciaravino of Keystone Heights and Michael Cornish of Miami; eight siblings Henry, Mark, Thomas, Jenny, and Anna all of Ocala, Lester of Callahan, and Katie and Dede "Sissy" both of Yulee. Also left behind are several grandchildren and great grandchildren in addition to a host of extended family member and friends. A memorial service for Steve will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018, with Pastor Steve Conner officiating. The family will have a time of fellowship immediately following the service at Steves home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the American Red Cross.
