Mr. Rogers ONeal Dansby, age 97, of Starke went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Mr. Dansby was born on August 15, 1912 in Dale County, Alabama to the late John Bishop and Bertie Seay Dansby and was a longtime area resident. He was a retired electrician from Florida Power & Light. Pops, as he was affectionately know by his family, was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Frances Andrews Dansby; daughter Lisa Kelly and grandson Ben Kelly. Survivors are his wife Virginia E. Dansby of Starke; children: William D. Dansby (Linda) of East Lansing, MI; Janice D. Hall (Rodney) of Starke; Mickey R. Dansby (Diane) Satellite Beach; and Eugenia E. Whitehead of Starke; son-in-law Don Kelly of Starke; grandchildren: Stephen P. Hall (Becky) of Orlando; Richard D. Hall (Lori) of Starke; Melanie D. Natarajan (Sean) of Fort Wayne, IN; Angela L. Dansby of Chicago, IL; Scott Dansby (Cayenne) of Orlando; Julie D. Scarborough (Stephen) of Atlanta, GA; Jay Kelly (Mandy) of Germany; great grandchildren: Danielle, Stephanie, and Tiffany Hall all of Starke; Christopher Hall; Molly and Mia Dansby all of Orlando; Elena Scarborough of Atlanta; Nicole Canipe (Richard) and great great grandson Wyatt Canipe all of Lake Geneva. The family will receive friends at the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL in Starke on Thursday, January 7, 2010 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010, at 2:00 PM in Madison Street Baptist Church with Dr. Eugene V. Coons and Reverend Charles Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Gideons for Bible placement.
