Ronald M. Hersey

Mr. Ronald M. Hersey, Jr. age 89, of Theressa passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Haven Hospice, E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. Mr. Hersey was a lifelong resident of Theressa and had served in the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Clay Electric for 34 years. He was a member of Hope Baptist Church, a charter member of Santa Fe Sportsman Club and the Riding Club. Mr. Hersey enjoyed hunting, riding and training horses, participating in Barrel races in which he had won numerous awards and trophies, and he enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and he loved his flowers. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jackie (Johns) and their son Mark Hersey both of Theresa and one grandson, Bo Peacock. A memorial service for Mr. Hersey will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shawn House officiating.
