Ronald Ellis "Ron" Regar

Mr. Ronald Ellis "Ron" Regar, Sr. age 65, of Lulu formerly of Starke passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville after the only fight he ever lost. He was born in Dade City on January 25, 1952. Following his retirement as Sergeant from the Department of Corrections, Ron began his new career with Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home until his second retirement. He was of the Mormon faith and enjoyed fishing, being outside and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed taking rides in his two mustangs which were also known and his "girls". Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Alice Faye (Crews) in 2010 and his father, Charlie Regar. Survivors are his 93 year old mother, Lucille (Sheppard) of Lulu and five children; Ronald E. Regar, Jr. (Bridget) and Chad Regar (Becky) all of Lake City, Michael Regar, Charles Regar, and Angie Regar (Darren) all of Lake Butler; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also left behind are two brothers and two sisters, and many nephews, nieces and countless relatives and friends to mourn his passing. A graveside service for Ron will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the viewing beginning one hour prior the service at the cemetery. His brother, Mr. Wilbur Regar will be officiating and interment will be at Douglas Cemetery in Lake Butler.
