Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Russell

Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Edward Russell age 75, of Waldo passed away at his home Monday, August 6, 2018. He was born October 2, 1942 in Charleston, West Virginia to Herman and Virginia (McCallister) Russell and had served in the United States Navy. Mr. Russell lived most of his life in Waldo and was a brick mason for nearly forty years before retiring and was known for being a hard worker. He was a member of Waldo Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Seminole fan. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was also preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca "Becky" Russell, a brother Doug Russell and a sister Ruth Ann Russell. His survivors are his wife of 44 years Janet (Richey) Russell and their six children Traci (Robert) Black of Hawthorne, Jason Russell, Justin Russell, Danny Joe Russell, Ryan Slana, and Simon Slana all of Gainesville; a brother James "Chunk" (Sue) Russell and a sister Jackie Russell all of Cocoa. Also left behind are four precious grandchildren Morgan, Cody, Dillan and Colton. A memorial service for Mr. Russell will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Waldo with Pastor Jim Dubois officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
