Ronald "Captain Ron"Thomas Vann, 68, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away onDecember 19, 2015. Ron was born on October 28, 1947 inJacksonville, FLtoHinton VannandEstelle (Stansel) Jerkins.Ron joined the Navy onSeptember 10, 1965andwas a veteran of the Vietnam War. Ron was a Bail Bondsmanand avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing,boating, gardeningand spending time with his family. Survived by his mother Estelle (Stansel) Jerkins, his wife Patricia (Knight) Vann, daughter - Misty Thomas and her husbandDaniel, Son - Hugh "Bubba" Hunnicutt and hiswife Janet, sister - Jeanette (Vann) Matthews and her husband Calvin, brother - Ricky Vann and his wife Brenda. Granddaughters - Tiffany Hunnicutt,KoriThomas and Kaci Thomas, many nieces and nephews, other family members and a host of close friends. Ronwas preceded in death by hisfather -Hinton Vann, daughter - Cynthia "Cindy" Vann and brother - David Vann. A celebration of Life service celebrating Rons life will be conducted by Pastor Russell Franklin onWednesday December 23rdat 11:00am at Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs, FL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the chapel.Ron will receive full military honors conducted by theHonor Guard.
