Ronald Wesley Hersey

Ronald Wesley Hersey, 80, passed away on April 19, 2018 at his home in Jacksonville, after a three year battle with cancer. He was born December 7, 1937 to the late Warren Leon Hersey and Ora Hersey Wilson in Lake Butler, FL. Ronald retired in 1986 after 30 years of service from General Motors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.Ronald was preceded in death by two children, Cynthia Lynn Hersey and Keith Wesley Hersey. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Cora Hersey. Also surviving are his daughter Terri Kinard (Al); grandchildren, Tyler Duerson (Ansley) & Darbi Duerson (Kevin Carter) and great grandchildren Emma Carter, Heather Carter & Reagan Duerson, all of Jacksonville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 25, 2018 in Englewood Christian Church, 4316 Barnes Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32207 with Wayne Fenner officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Memorial Cemetery of Lake City, FL. Serving as pallbearers will be Bud Rosier, George Rosier, Andy Nettles, Larry Nettles, Wayne Hamlin & Tyler Duerson.
