Obituary for Rose Marie (Peek) HillRose Marie (Peek) Hill passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024 at the age of 90. Rose was born on October 9, 1933, and was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Fl. She began working for Southern Bell in her junior year of high school and was hired full time upon her graduation from Andrew Jackson High School in 1953. She retired on July 1, 1989. Rose was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Rose is predeceased in death by her late husband, Alton Ray Hill, and her only son, John William "Billy" Smith II. She is also predeceased by her parents, Lonnie Nathaniel and Lily Mae (Allen) Peek and only child, John William "Billy" Smith II. Rose is also predeceased in death by brothers Charles Allen and Lonnie Samuel Peek, and sister Lois Miller. She is survived by her sister in love, Jenette Newman Peek, nephews Lonnie Thermon Peek, David Statham, and Lee Dungan; and nieces Wendy Lynette Peek, Portia Dinsbeer, Linda Hosey, and Eris Boucher. Rose is also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews.The services have been arranged by Hewell and Sons Funeral Home and will be Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 11AM in the Heavenly Heights Baptist Church located at 6680 Dunn Ave, 32218. Chaplain Tracey from Hospice will officiate with Pastor Larry Noland in attendance. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with services following. Lunch will be served at the church and everyone is welcome.
