Mr. Roy Farrell Gilstrap, age 82 peacefully and quietly went home to be with his Savior and Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at home in Keystone Heights, FL surrounded by his family.Mr Gilstrap was born in St Louis, MO to Roy and Mae Gilstrap. He attended Southwest High School and Washington University. He served in the US Navy and was stationed at NAS Jacksonville. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church Jacksonville where he met the love of his life, Ruby. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, the former Ruby Livingston, a 5th general Floridian and 3 sons. Harold (Kimberly) of Keystone Heights, Vance (Karin) of Colorado Springs, CO and Alan (Emile) of Greensboro, NC, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.Roy Farrell was a civil designer and draftsman for Smith and Gillespie Consulting Engineers for 35 years and retired from Gee and Jensen Consulting Engineers in 1994.Memorial services celebrating his life and family will be held on Saturday, September 3rd @ 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights.
