ObituaryMrs. Ruby Jeanette Ricks GriffisMrs. Ruby Jeanette Ricks Griffis age 79, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Griffis was born on October 24, 1929 in Starke to James David and Ada Carter Ricks and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Starke and the American Legion Post 56 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Dennis W. D.W. Griffis, three brothers, and daughter Judy Ann Harper. Survivors are: children: Roger Griffis of Lake Butler; Mary Bridgers of Moss Bluff, LA; Betty J. B.J. Griffis of Starke; Robin Crawford of Starke; David Griffis of Vancouver, WA; four sisters; four brothers; grandchildren: Angela Donaldson of Starke; Kim Naquin of Moss Bluff, LA; Brandy Griffis of Jacksonville; Ricky Fell of Lake Butler; Dennis Griffis; Molly Griffis; and Christopher Harper all of Portland, OR; great grandchildren; Austin and Justin Fugatt; Jimmy and Karrie Donaldson all of Starke; Kyla and Wyatt Naquin both of Moss Bluff, LA; Taylor Lynn Griffis of Portland, OR. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Chapel one hour prior to services. Funeral services for Mrs. Griffis will be held on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel, 514 E. Nona Street, Starke with Pastor Fred Clem officiating. Interment will follow in Kingsley Lake Cemetery.
