Mrs. Ruby S. Hersey, 83 of Starke passed away at the Haven Hospice E. T. York Care Center in Gainesville on Friday, May 21 2010. Mrs. Hersey was born on May 22, 1926 in Orlando, FL to the late Jesse and Cora (Royston) Shoemaker. Mrs. Hersey was a member of the Northside Baptist Church of Starke and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Rebecca Becky Reddish and Denise Norman. Her survivors are her children: Margaret Brannen, William Newham, David Newham, J. Wayne Hersey, Dwight Hersey, Doley Hersey, Donald Hersey, DeWitt Hersey, Elbert Hersey, and Lancin Hersey all of Starke; Wayne Jones; Jerry Jones; and Keith Jones all of Johnson City, TN. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren. Viewing for Mrs. Hersey will be 1 hour prior to the service. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hersey will be on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Brother Larry Finley officiating. Burial will follow in the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
