Ruth Bryant Canady

Mrs. Ruth Bryant Canady age 90, of Tampa formerly of Starke passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Jacksonville on April 9, 1927 to the late John Ellis and Naomi Ruth (Baugham) Bryant. Ruth was a homemaker, an avid golfer, and enjoyed bowling with her sister, Esther on the weekends.She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Canady; sisters, Virginia Hoffsteller and Martha Ann Giles; and grandson, Christopher Canady. Ruth is survived by her children, Deborah Christen of Tampa, Richard Canady (Denise) of Tampa, and David Canady (Kathy) of Tampa; siblings, John Bryant (Jackie) of Longwood, Esther Winter (Hans) of Gainesville, Jimmy Bryant (Polly) of Jacksonville, and Paul L. Bryant (Bill) of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous family members and friends.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services will be held at Keystone Heights Cemetery immediately following the visitation.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruths name may be made to LifePath Hospice, 12470 Telecom Drive, Tampa, FL 33637.
