Mrs. Marlene Conner age 85 of Starke passed away at her home Monday, May 20, 2024, following an extended illness. She was born October 7, 1938, in Starke to Newn D. and Gladys (Parmenter) Burney. Mrs. Conner was known for driving a school bus, selling life insurance, and working at the Handy Way convenience store. She as a member of Cross Church, loved traveling to the Smokey Mountains, taking care of her cat "Fluffy", but most of all she loved her church and her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Conner, son Ty Clemons, and a brother Bobby Hutcheson. Left behind to cherish her memory are three children Ricky Clemons (Wanda), Victor Clemons, and Kim Wimpy (Richard) all of Starke. She was lovingly called "Mema" by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 26, 2024, in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel from 1-2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Justin Durrance and Mr. Jason Crawford officiating.
