Ruth Suggs Jump

Ruth Suggs Jump, 93, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2020 at the Plaza Health and Rehab Hospice unit in Gainesville, Florida. Ruth was born on October 3, 1926 in Oxford, Florida to Thelma and Jack Suggs. She was a devout Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Alachua. Ruth was at peace when she studied her bible and enjoyed witnessing to her caregivers and fellow patients. She is survived by her son Jackie Morton (Martha), Alachua, and daughters Charlene Fugate (David), Alachua, and Sandra Parrish (Jim), Jacksonville, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Clara Russell, and her cousin Charles Suggs. She was predeceased by her parents, her stepmother Mattie Suggs, her husband Gerald Jump, brothers Walter Marvin Suggs, James Suggs, and Johnnie Suggs, and sister Pearl Witt. Visitation at Evans Carter Funeral Home will be Sunday, September 13th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held Monday, September 14th, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Meadows Memorial Park West, Newberry, Florida.
