Mrs. Ruthe Frances Fitzpatrick, age 105, of Fleming Island passed away on June 25, 2026, at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital. Born on January 19, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Jacques and Julie (Smith) Crane, Ruthe lived a remarkable vibrant life.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward Francis Fitzpatrick, her sister Virginia McNiff and daughter-in-law Barbara Fitzpatrick.

Ruthe was a loving mother to her son Edward Fitzpatrick and to her grandchildren: Victoria Steele (husband Lee), Michael Fitzpatrick (wife Suzanna), Julie Schmidling (husband Robert), and John Fitzpatrick (wife Martha); great grandchildren, James Matthew Steele, Jennifer Leanna Czwornog, Amber Noel Schmidling-White, Rebekah Jeanne' King, Erin Adelle Schmidling, Abbygail Rachel' Fitzpatrick, Victoria Danielle Schmidling, Alison Rhea' Fitzpatrick, and John Thomas Fitzpatrick. Also left is her brother John Crane and her great-great grandchildren, Riley Scott Czwornog, David John King, Ryder Liam Czwornog and Josiah James King.

Prior to her retirement, Ruthe was employed with Sears & Roebuck, where she excelled in sales and office management within the catalog department. Following her career she traveled extensively in the United States and the Caribbean region.

Ruthe will be remembered for her remarkable life, her strength in the face of challenges, and her devotion to the people she loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola at a later date.
