Ms. Sallijoye Hunt Bradley, age 70, of Waldo, FL passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL following a long battle with cancer. She was born in Moultrie, GA on November 25, 1952 to Raymond and the late Mary Oveda (Fraser) Hunt. Salli spent her childhood traveling with her family during her father's naval career. In 1970, she graduated from Columbia High School in Lake City, FL and started her own family soon after. Salli settled in Humphreys County, TN in 1984 where she raised her children while working at the H.I.S. jean factory in Bructon County. She earned her Electrical Engineering Technology degree from Nashville State Community College and worked at OCharleys in Dickson, TN prior to her retirement in 2017. Salli then moved to Florida to be closer to her daughter Melissa and take care of her father. She most recently attended Cross Church in Lake City, FL and volunteered regularly at the American Legion in Starke as a cook for Monday night bingo amongst other Legion activities. Salli enjoyed bringing her family together, spending time with her grandchildren, thrift and bargain shopping, going to the zoo, talking to her family and friends on the phone, and playing games on her smartphone.Sallijoye leaves behind her four children Melissa Hermann (Ray Hermann) of Lake City, FL, Salli Dotson (Jeff Dotson) of Waverly, TN, John Bradley of Waverly, TN, Brandon Bradley (Kaitlyn Bradley) of Madison, TN, her partner Scott Bradley of Waverly, TN, her father Raymond Hunt USN RET and RET Deputy Sheriff with BCSO of Starke, and her sister Pennirae Frisbie of Austin, TX. She was also lovingly called Grandma by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Rock Primitive Baptist Church in Brooker, FL. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Elder Kyle Lloyd and Elder Jim Sandlin officiating. A second service will begin at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Luff-Bowen Funeral Home in Waverly, TN. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Brother Larry McGranahan officiating and interment at the nearby Richlawn Cemetery.The family has designated St. Jude Children's Research Hospital of Memphis, TN for memorial contributions in honor of Sallijoye.
