Obituary

Mr. Sam J. Lucky Loiacano age 75, of Starke passed away, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on August 16, 1938 to the late Arthur and Juanita (Benito) Loiacano and has been a resident of Starke since 2000 moving from Titusville. Mr. Loiacano had served in the United States Navy and was employed as a Mechanical Engineer with the Kennedy Space Center for 18 years before retiring. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and the Machinist Union. When he was able, he enjoyed fishing, football, watching movies, and playing on the computer. His two granddaughters Alexandria Nicole Barger and Victoria Paige Loiacano had preceded him in death. His good buddy and friend Peanut had also preceded him in death. Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Liz Loiacano and their two children, Lora Barger of Titusville and David Loiacano of Starke; two siblings, Joann Wheeler (Chuck) of Sour Lake, Texas and Robert Loiacano of Georgia. Also left behind are his grandchildren, Amanda Crowe, Brandy Crowe, Gage Loiacano, and Skyler Schmidt; great grandchildren, Faith and Lane. Viewing will be Monday, December 2, 2013 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel beginning at 12 noon with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Ricky Lee will be officiating and the burial will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery with full Military Honors.
