Mrs. Sara Sally Cordella Groves age 60, a lifelong resident of Starke passed away at the Haven Hospice E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville on Friday, August 24, 2012. Mrs. Groves was born on September 23, 1951 to the late Marvin L. and Sarah (Welch) Lawson. She was a Charter member of the Madison Street Baptist Church and was very active the schools in Bradford County. Prior to her retirement she was the receptionist for the Bradford Middle School for many years. Her sister Pamela Dyal had preceded her in death. Survivors are her husband of 34 years; Wayne Groves, children; Jay L. Groves of Starke, Michael Groves of Texas, Sarah C. Smith and her husband Jason of Tampa, brothers; Henry Lawson, Sonny Lawson, and David Lawson all of Starke. She also leaves behind her five beautiful grandchildren; Cori and Savannah Smith, Kyle, Kimberly, and Justin Groves, and many nieces and nephews. Viewing for Mrs. Groves will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Madison Street Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Madison Street Baptist Church. Burial will be at a later date at the Crosby Lake Cemetery.
