Nov 6, 1934 — Dec 1, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Severa "Georgina" Lanman, who left us peacefully on December 1, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on November 6, 1934, in Candelaria, Cuba, Georgina embraced life with warmth, compassion, and an unwavering spirit.
For many years, Georgina worked at Carter & Holmes in South Carolina, where she discovered a deep passion for growing orchids. She was also a gifted seamstress and talented hobbyist—creating cherished baby blankets, quilts, stained-glass pieces, paintings, and countless other handmade treasures that her family will forever hold dear.
Georgina is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, John Lanman, and their devoted children: Paula Deep, Irma Martin, Isabel Cruse, and Susan Lang, along with Eric (Santya) Lanman, Starr (Tom) Lanman, Hope (Ron) Krebill, Mark (Gina) Lanman, and Alisa (Tom) Parker. She is also survived by her sister, Gilda (Jaime) Perez and their three children, Gilda, Jaime, and Michelle.
To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as "Wela." Daniel Deep, Devin Deep, James (Kimberly) Jones, Jenni (Mike) Bennett, Stephanie (Troy) Land, Melissa (Andrew) Lang, Matthew Lang, Meg (Jeremy) Houser, Michelle Lang, David Lanman, Katheryn Lanman, Madeleine Greenfield, Carly Greenfield, Lucy Greenfield, Cicely (Parker) Hoffman, Deborah (Daniel) Adam, Jessica (Jason) Messier, Mark Jr. (Jess) Lanman, Emery Parker, and Nora Parker will carry her spirit and memory in their hearts.
